Les Misérables has been seen by over 53 million people in 38 countries and 21 languages since its first London performance in October 1985. The original Broadway production opened on March 12, 1987, at the Broadway Theatre, winning seven Tony Awards that season, including Best Musical. The show went on to play a total of 6,680 performances.

Based on Victor Hugo's epic novel. Relentless policeman Javert pursues escaped convict Jean Valjean over decades through the tumult of revolutionary France. Valjean becomes a mayor, agrees to raise the daughter of dying prostitute and joins the fight for freedom. None of this impresses the single-minded Javert, until the day Valjean saves his life. Score includes 'Who Am I?', 'A Little Fall of Rain', 'One Day More', 'Bring Him Home' and 'I Dreamed a Dream'.

Saw it in Omaha

This is a completely new production, with astounding visual effects (not the oh-so-tired-of-them computer variety) I had never before seen in theatre. I had to see it twice it was so good and I would go back again. The best show I have ever seen, truly wonderful and I can't get enough. Take your family, take your friends they will love it for sure. I have seen Les Miserable before, but this was the best production to date. No other show featured an entire cast with such perfect voices. Valjean and Javert were the best I have seen.
